I recently returned from a week in Rome, where cinematographer Matteo Cocco and I filmed with Dr. Abenavoli of the Smiletrain for my next Documentary. I expect it to be finished mid 2010. It is the Story 0f 21 years old Rabasia, an Indonesian Girl, affected by a very strong facial deformation, who underwent surgery in July this year. I followed her story of transformation in Indonesia earlier this year, and was there during her operation. These doctors for sure changed her life, or better they gave her a life, because being forced to live in that conditions in a country like Indonesia, means no way of living a worthy life.
So now I am involved with this very emotional subject, researching about the importance of having a healthy mouth and about the motivations who trigger people to invest so much energy in helping less fortunate ones. It was grat fun filming in Rome, meeting strangers on the street and describing Rome through the mouth and lips of people. I think we covered all possible cliches about Italians
Stay tuned and if you’d like to hear more about my film project, please feel free to write me!
